Mobile applications have moved from being mere conveniences to becoming more of a daily staple in many organizations. Smart phones enable organizations to change the way that their workforce not only stays in-touch with the office but also how they interact with clients. The trend with mobile applications is to take selected client facing activities and migrate the workflows in such a way that allows them to be delivered via smart phones and tablets. Some of the early adopters have been organizations with remote/distributed workforces that utilize mobile applications as a way to capture interactions with clients and transmit that data back to the office.
Clochase has worked with a number of our clients to enable them to increase the efficiency of their workforce through the use of mobile applications. The next few paragraphs provide an overview of some of the applications that have been developed and deployed by Clochase in the mobile space. Read through the mobile application whitepapers listed below for a better overview of the possible business applications that your organization may wish to consider moving to a mobile delivery platform.
QA/QC Inspection of Client Installations - one area of significant cost to cable and satellite installation companies is the call-back rate for technicians to correct issues associated with installations. Clochase developed a QA/QC application for use by technicians to document the completed installation. This includes line of sight (for satellite installations), termination point wiring, and overall job completeness and cleanliness. Technicians use this application to receive their daily work orders, obtain driving directions to the location, track/record part numbers installed/removed, record notes on the installations, and finally photograph the installations. The required and optional information is managed through the job template with the client able to define/edit the templates as their business needs evolve. In addition to documenting the installation, the client utilizes the real-time upload of photos as part of a training activity that is used in the training/maintenance of new installation technicians. They have found that this QC activity reduces the overall number of call-backs required and helps focus attention to technicians that require retraining. (iPhone/Android)
Accident Investigation/Repair - this application was built for insurance companies and it allows for the remote dispatch of investigative technicians to review and document conditions around an auto accident and the resultant claim to the insurance company. The client has determined that it is possible to have the remote technicians complete the accident investigation paperwork and associated photographs. Once the accident information and photographs have been uploaded the system makes these available for review by an experienced adjudicator. The adjudicator has the ability to review the images and documentation and real-time and request additional photographs/videos of the damage from the accident technician. This has reduced the time and cost required to process a claim. (iPhone/Android/iPad2)
Vehicle Appraisal – this application is available in two forms for car dealerships (i) a smartphone application designed to allow them to record simple information and take pictures as part of a mobile inspection of the vehicle; (ii) a tablet-based full function vehicle appraisal system that guides the user through a structured appraisal process providing everything from VIN decoding through to comparison with similar wholesale and retail vehicles. This application enables the inspection to take place at the vehicle thereby ensuring that the most accurate information is obtained and recorded for the vehicle.
